Stephanie McCants isn’t just one of our models — she’s family.
In June 2023, Stephanie lost her mom unexpectedly. While trying to heal from that heartbreak, she also lost her job of nearly 10 years — and with it, the health insurance she depended on.

Soon after, life threw another challenge her way. Stephanie was diagnosed with stage 2, grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma — breast cancer.
After multiple biopsies and tests, doctors found that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. Now, she’s preparing for a double mastectomy and a long, difficult treatment journey.
But even in her toughest moments, Stephanie showed up to our photoshoot — brave, glowing, and full of heart.
She represents what Built Different truly means: Strength. Faith. Love. Resilience.
“It’s not just about cancer,” Stephanie said.
“It’s about staying strong for my boys, healing fully, and finding peace in the middle of the storm.”

Kimberly LaRussa stood beside Steph through her entire journey — encouraging her when she was nervous, uplifting her when she doubted herself, and reminding her that she was Built Different.
A breast cancer survivor herself, Kimberly is now in remission and continues to be a passionate advocate for women battling breast cancer.
